North India is a region of diversities which include different climate, language, costume, culture and many geographical differences. It consists of snow capped Himalayan peaks along with hill stations at highest to low altitudes. North India also has Thar Desert in the state of Rajasthan. The fertile Indo-Gangetic plains of North India were once ruled by various Indian dynasties like Maurya, Gupta, Mughal, Maratha and Sikh prior to British Indian Empire before India became an independent nation in August, 1947.
It has many Hindu pilgrimage centers such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, Haridwar, Allahabad, Mathura, Vaishno Devi and Pushkar along with the Buddhist pilgrimage centers like Sarnath and Kushinagar. The Golden Temple of Amritsar is one of the major attractions of Punjab. The Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and the Khajuraho temples are among the world heritage sites.
Many other attractions like the Hill Forts of Rajasthan, Jantar Mantar (Jaipur), Bhimbetka Caves, Sanchi monuments, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar and Red Fort. Hindi is the language majorly spoken in North India and is also considered as an official language. Other mostly spoken languages in the northern region are Punjabi & Urdu.
North India officially includes the Indian states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territories of Delhi and Chandigarh. Rajasthan, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh are the other states tough not formally part of North India yet these states are culturally and linguistically accepted as North Indian states.
Day – 1, Arrive Delhi – Delhi
Pick up from Delhi Railway Station.Transfer & check in to the hotel. After lunch visit Jama Masjid , Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Parliament House, and Lotus Temple. Back to the hotel. Evening free for shopping. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day – 2, Delhi – Vrindavan (195 km / approx 4 hour drive)
After Breakfast drive to Vrindavan & check in to hotel. After lunch visit to Govind Dev Temple, Keshi ghat, Bankey Bihari temple, Shahji Temple & Ranganathaji Temple. Back to hotel. Overnight stay at Vrindavan.
Day – 3, Vrindavan – Mathura (18 km / approx 35 min drive)
After Breakfast drive to Mathura & check in to hotel. AfterBreakfast visit to Krishna Janma Bhoomi Mandir, Radha Kund. After Lunch visit Jama Masjid, Dwarkadhish temple, Kusum Saravor, Mathura Museum & Govardhan hill. Then back to hotel. Overnight stay at Mathura.
Day – 4, Mathura – Agra (65 km / approx 2 hour drive)
After breakfast drive to Agra. Transfer & check in to hotel. After lunch visit to Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. Back to hotel. Overnight stay at Agra.
Day – 5, Agra – Lucknow (345 km / approx 5 hour drive)
After breakfast drive to Lucknow. Transfer & check in to hotel. After Lunch visit Bada Imambara, Chota Imambara, British Residency, Lucknow Zoo. Back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Lucknow.
Day – 6, Lucknow Sightseeing
After Breakfast visit to the Rumi Darwaza, Clock Tower, Chattar Manzil. After Lunch visit Lucknow Museum, Dr. Ambedkar Park, Begum Hazrat Mahal park. Then back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Lucknow.
Day – 7, Lucknow – Varanasi (330 km / approx 7 hour drive)
After breakfast drive toVaranasi. Transfer & check in to hotel. After Lunch visit Sarnath, Dhamekh Stupa, Mulgandhkuti Vihar, Ashok Pillar and Archaeological Museum. In the evening visit Boat ride on the river Ganga and experience the spiritual Ganga Aarti. Then back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Varanasi.
Day – 8, Varanasi Sightseeing
After Breakfast visit to the Lord Vishwanath Temple, Kal Bhairav Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir. After lunch visit Sankatmochan Mandir, Manikarnika ghat, Ramnagar Fort, Chunar Fort. In the evening visit to the shopping of Banarasi sarees and dress materials in the local market.
Day – 9, Varanasi – Delhi station drop (850 km / approx 14 hour drive)
After Breakfast Drop to Delhi Railway Station.
