Mumbai (previously known as Bombay until 1996) is a natural harbor on the west coast of India, and is the capital city of Maharashtra state. It is India‘s largest city, and one of the world’s most populous cities. It is the financial capital of India. The city is the second most-populous in the world. It has approximately 13 million people. Along with the neighboring cities of Navi Mumbai and Thane, it forms the world’s 4th largest urban agglomeration. They have around 19.1 million people.

The seven islands that form Bombay were home to fishing colonies. The islands were ruled by successive kingdoms and indigenous empires before Portuguese settlers took it. Then, it went to the British East India Company. During the mid-18th century, Bombay became a major trading town. It became a strong place for the Indian independence movement during the early 20th century. When India became independent in 1947, the city was put into Bombay State. In 1960, following the Samyukta Maharashtra movement, a new state of Maharashtra was created with Bombay as the capital. It was renamed Mumbai in 1996.

Mumbai generates more than 6% of India’s GDP. It accounts for 25% of industrial output, 40% of sea trade, and 70% of capital transactions to India’s economy. The Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange, the National Stock Exchange of India and many Indian companies and multinational corporations are in the city. It also has the Hindi film and television industry, known as Bollywood.

Day – 1, Arrive Mumbai

Pick up from  Mumbai Railway Station. Arrive & check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at Mumbai.

Day – 2, Mumbai Sightseeing

After Breakfast visit to the British – built arch called The Gateway of India,The Prince of Wales Museum, University of Bombay, High Court of Bombay, Crawford Market Walking in streets of Colaba and Mangaldas Market. You will also visit the Hanging Gardens, which are located on the crest of Malabar Hill. Followed by visit the renowned Gandhi Memorial Museum and Jain Temple. Then proceed to Siddhivinayak Temple and have a view of the temple from outside. We later take the Bandra Wolli Sea Link. Evening back to hotel. Overnight stay at Mumbai.

Day – 3, Mumbai – Elephanta caves (35 km / approx 1 hour drive)

After Breakfast visit Elephanta caves, These caves located on the island, located on an arm of the Arabian Sea, consists of two groups of caves—the first is a large group of five Hindu caves, the second, a smaller group of two Buddhist caves. The Hindu caves contain rock cut stone sculptures, representing the Shaiva Hindu sect, dedicated to the Lord Shiva.Back to hotel, Rest of the day enjoy some local shopping, Overnight at Elephanta caves.

Day – 4, Elephanta caves – Mumbai (35 km / approx 1 hour drive)

After Breakfast visit Dabbawala, Dhobi ghat . Back to hotel. Afternoon visit Bollywood Tour at Flim City. Then back to hotel. Overnight stay at Mumbai.

Day -5, Mumbai – Goa (595 km / approx 10 h 15 min drive)

After Breakfast transfer to Goa by train. Arrive Goa & check in to the hotel. Rest of the day relax. Overnight stay at Goa.

Day – 6, Goa Sightseeing

After  breakfast full day at leisure to relax on beaches. Evening visit local market for shopping.  Overnight stay at Goa.

Day -7, Goa Sightseeing

After  breakfast visit to St. Catherine church, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Local village temple, walking tour of village plantation followed by Goan buffet lunch, Panjim bazaar, Miramar beach. Evening back to hotel. Overnight stay at Goa.

Day – 8, Goa Sightseeing

After breakfast full day at leisure to relax on beaches. Evening visit local market for shopping. Overnight stay at Goa.

Day -9, Goa Railway Station drop

After Breakfast drop to Goa Railway Station.
