Dharamshala is a hill station located in the Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh Before independence of India; Dharamshala was already a famous holiday destination for the British people. In 1959, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India to escape the Chinese invasion of Tibet. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India allowed him to settle near Dharamshala, in McLeod Ganj. Many Tibetan immigrants joined the Dalai Lama who established the “Tibetan Government In Exile” in the year 1960.Today several thousand Tibetan exiles live in McLeod Ganj. Monasteries, libraries and museum have been erected in order to preserve the rich tibetan culture and Buddhism traditions. Hence it has become an important tourist destination. Dharamshala is divided into two parts, the lower city: which is the urban area with government offices, schools and markets. The upper city, McLeod Ganj which has most of the tourism facilities and places of interest.
Amritsar historically also known as Rāmdāspur and colloquially as Ambarsar, is the second-most populous city in the Indian state of Punjab. The city is the administrative headquarters of the Amritsar district and is located in the Majha region of Punjab. According to the 2011 census, the population of Amritsar was 1,132,761. It is one of the ten Municipal Corporations in the state and Karamjit Singh Rintu is the current mayor of the city. The city is situated 217 km (135 mi) northwest of state capital Chandigarh, 455 km (283 miles) northwest of New Delhi, the national capital And 47 km (29.2 miles) northeast of LahorePakistan, with the Wagah Border being only 28 km (17.4 mi) away. Amritsar has been chosen as one of the heritage cities for HRIDAY – Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana scheme of Government of India.  Amritsar is home to Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as “the Golden Temple,” one of Sikhism’s most spiritually significant and most-visited gurudwaras. The city is also known for its wooden chessboards and chess pieces manufacturing industry.

 Day 1, Amritsar

Pick up from Amritsar railway station & transfer to Hotel at Amritsar, Overnight stay at Amritsar.

Day 2, Amritsar sightseeing

After breakfast to cover Amritsar sightseeing in which include: Golden Temple(the most important Sikh shrine which is also called Mecca for the Sikhs is a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs), Jallianbala Bagh ( where, on April 13, 1919, British and Gurkha soldiers opened fire on an unarmed forbidden gathering, killing hundreds of civilians.). After lunch visit Wagah Border. Then back to hotel & Overnight stay in Amritsar.

Day 3, Amritsar – Jawalamukhi (182km) 4hrs 15min

After breakfast drive to Jawalamukhi. On the way, visit Chintpurni mata temple. Arrive & check in the hotel. Overnight stay in Jawalamukhi.

Day 4, Jawalamukhi – Dharamshala (51.6km) 1hrs 30min

Early morning visit Jawalamukhi mata temple. After breakfast drive to Dharamshala. On the way, visit Palampur tea garden. Arrive & check in the hotel. After lunch visit Mcleodganj, Dharamsala Stadium, Tibetan Monastery.  Evening visit to the Tibetan Markets. Back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Dharamsala.

Day 5, Dharamsala sightseeing

After Breakfast visit to Bhagsunag Temple. After lunch visit Bhagsunag, Naddi, Dal Lake, Waterfall and Tibetan Monastery. Then back to Dharamsala for overnight stay.

Day 6, Dharamsala – Khajjiar – Dalhousie (150km) 5hrs

After Breakfast drive Khajjiar known as Mini Switzerland of India. Activities at Khajjiar: – Horse riding, Zorbing, Nature walks suggestive here in betweens the trees, must visit to the KHAJJI NAGA TEMPLE there.  Then drive to Dalhousie. Arrive & check into the hotel. Overnight stay at Dalhousie.

Day 7, Dalhousie – Chamba – Bharmour (143km) 6hrs

After breakfast transfer to Bharmour. On the way visit, Chamera Dam & Chamunda Devi Temple. Arrive & check in the hotel. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 8, Bharmour – Amritsar ((277km) 7hrs 30min

 After breakfast visit Shiv sakti mata temple & Thane waterfalls. Then transfer to Amritsar. Arrive & check in the Hotel at Amritsar, Overnight stay at Amritsar.

Day 9, Drop Amritsar

Early morning Drop to Amritsar railway station.
