  A beautiful city encircled by pine trees, Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. It derives its name from Lei Shyllong, an idol worshipped at the Shillong Peak. Standing as tall as 1496 meters, Shillong provides a relief from the heat across the country. This hill station is known for its picturesque sights and traditions. The soothing climate makes Shillong suitable to visit in all seasons. The light drizzles and the cooling gentle wind adds to the joy of visiting this hill station. This place is also known as the ‘Scotland of the East’. One can find descendants of the Khyrim, Mylliem, Maharam, Mallaisohmat, Bhowal and Langrim tribes.

  Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is the home to numerous waterfalls. The exciting mountain peaks, crystal clear lakes, breathtakingly beautiful golf courses, museums and the zoo are the key reasons why people visit Shillong. Apart from the natural beauty, Shillong also acts as the gateway to Meghalaya, the state famous for heavy rainfalls, caving, tallest waterfalls, beautiful landscapes and amazing people and culture. Day – 1, Arrive Guwahati – Kaziranga (205 km / approx 4 h 30 min drive)

Pick up from Guwahati Railway Station & transfer to Kaziranga, National Park, the home of “One Horned Rhinoceros”, Check in the hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Day – 2, Kaziranga Shightseeing

After Breakfast visit to Kaziranga National Park. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo, Elephants and if you are lucky then tiger also. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park.Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy jeep safari through the National Park. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Day – 3, Kaziranga – Shillong (262 km / approx 6 hour drive)

After Breakfast drive to Shillong. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.  On arrival at  Shillong, check in to hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Shillong.

 Day – 4, Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (60 km / approx 2 hour drive)

After Breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee, visit to the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai,  Mawsmai caves. Evening return to Shillong and  visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day – 5, Shillong – Guwahati (110 km / approx 3 hour drive)

After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum & Ward’s Lake. Then drive to Guwahati. Arrive and check in to the  hotel. In the evening visit ‘Kalakshetra’ place. Return to hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

Day – 6, Guwahati Sightseeing

After breakfast visit to Kamakhya Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Regional Science Centre and Sukreswar Temple. Afternoon visit to the Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra . Overnight stay at Guwahati.

Day – 7, Guwahati Drop

After breakfast drop to Guwahati  Railway Station.
